Elia M. Ellis

Elia has devoted over thirty years as a practicing attorney to providing counsel to community associations, representing hundreds of clients, from small to large, throughout Missouri and Illinois. As the firm’s principal attorney, he is tasked with ensuring that trustworthy and cost effective legal guidance is always provided to our community association clients.

Elia offers our clients experienced, and pragmatic general counsel aimed at minimizing risk and liability exposure while maximizing a community’s property values. His practice focuses on interpretation of governing documents, drafting and amending governing documents to meet each community’s unique needs, and enforcing governing documents through dispute resolution or litigation.

Elia is actively involved in the Heartland Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI), having served as a past Chapter President and Board Member, Chapter Hall of Fame Partner, and an expert speaker on a variety of community association law topics. Elia currently serves as the chair of CAI’s Missouri Legislative Action Committee, promoting a legislative agenda supportive of the Community Association industry. He also attends CAI’s annual Community Association Law Seminar to stay apprised of recent national developments in community association law.

 

Elia is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Illinois, and the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri. He earned his J.D. from the Washington University School of Law, and his B.A. from the University of Illinois.
